Continue on Saturday tale~

Today's recipe: Puff pastry

We have bought the puff pastry a week ago but haven't got the chance to do. So I made a deal with the boys, that was: Go to take a nap first and we make puff together. Since we woke up so early today and had a late night on Friday.

Scott was saying,"Mommy, I cannot sleep, my eyes are not closing...". Ended up he slept from 11+am to 4pm!

Sean got up and we started making sausage puff and look, daddy didn't pretend to be busy this time, he joined us to make puff together le! How come he is wearing a psycho ward uniform? :O Sean is in danger! hahahha...
Look at the sausages in oven :) Don't they look yummy?!

Besides sasage puff, we tried to be inventive. We make tuna puff like what Jennifer did, but look at ours! We have chilli tuna puff & mayo tuna puff!

We were very into cooking lately, spend quality time with kids ma! Especially Sean loves to cook :) it's a good quality time together and save $ too! If we go out killing time at shopping mall, one day can easily spend more than hundred (drinks+ food+ entertainment). Jennifer has offered to teach my boys to make doggie cookies in May, can't wait!

We made otopus sausage last weekend, see! Aren't they adorable? haha..but we ate them all! Slurp!!!
Week before last week, we also bought some jelly from a jelly cake shop at The Curve. You'll agree with me why staying at home to cook will save a lot of $. This bear bear costs about RM6++.

This costs RM8++
If I buy a pack of jelly powder + mixed fruits in a can + quality time with children making jelly = priceless :)

Earth Day

We woke up early in the morning, really early for Saturday ~ 7am. Why on earth we got up so early on a Saturday morning? Sean's school has organised Earth Day, so we participated and went to the school with some recycle items. We brought in some plastic stuff and a bag of shredded papers, felt so proud! But when we saw washing machine, TV, radio... OK, keep quiet and stand aside, take pictures.

As usual, after korkor has taken the picture, the small one will ask:"mommy, how about me?".

We went to the school hall to explore further as there were a few exhibition booths. Must be those so-call sponsors with intention to make a little profit from the parents la. A lady approached me with a leaflet, about biometrics reader to identify the kids talents and it helps to indentify what are the strength and weaknesses, what the child likes and dislikes and so on...hubby expertise was to walk away and left me alone to handle situation like this. Not once but all the time, whenever sales person or anyone approached us for anything, he would quietly walk away. Since he is so good at it, I have to 'praise' him in the public, let the whole world know about it. ;)

After that we just simply walked around to kill time. There was supposed to be a talk and award session for the winners who participated in the drawing session. We were just too bored to hang in there, so we decided to leave early...

We went to the market to buy some stuff because my sister would be coming for dinner, her birthday was on Friday and I figured she would have planned with her boyfriend & family, so I invited her over on Saturday. Hubby found a parking spot next to a restaurant, which was full of oil. He suggested 2 of us (me and a boy) went to the market and he would drop the car to car wash. So we agreed and went to market to buy stuff. After we have finished buying, there was not sign of him, called him 7 times but all went to voicemail. Sean suggested we walked to the car wash place with heavy load of stuff. When I saw him sitting there under the fan, the fire was burning from within. I 'washed' him 9 9 9.... in front of the car wash owner. Super TL with a husband leaving a wife & boy to carry heavy stuff under hot sun and he was enjoying cool air with comfortable chair!?
Don't get me wrong, I am not the bitchy wife that will simply make my man lose face. I was so furious because I called him 7 times and no answer. Normally he would have taken out his phone to check, see who called. Or many times his customers call him, sure got him, even during weekend. I got angry because he never bother to walk over to help, and never bother to check the phone. What if Sean got lost and I need help? What if anything happened to anyone of us in the market and he was needed? Sigh...man!

God of Kitchen

Just happened to find these pictures from my memory card. They have been forgotten for a while, what a heartless mom! This is about The future God of Kitchen!

My little kitchen helpers were in action that day when I first tried making radish cake myself. They volunteer to help. Sean likes cooking, so he volunteer first. Of course when one is doing something, the other one will naturally ask:"Mommy, I want to help too, is there anything I can help?". Sweet!

So there they were, working hard for steam radish cake ingredients.

What did daddy do? Can't remember clearly but something like reading newspaper or staring at his notebook, pretend to be very busy, as usual.

Luckily I have my 2 darling boys to help me and this is something I like to do with them nowadays, cook together. Sean just did his salmon dinner on Wednesday night :) We are going to make sausage puff tonight, aunt Jennifer's recipe!

I used to tell people that they were very naughty. However, I see improvement & good progress of change in them. They do all their homework by themselves (Scott did his homework last night before he went to bed, although he forgot it, still....he did it eventually); they help me to wash & clean the toilet; they wash their own shoes, even daddy's and mine! They are more discipline on bed time, Scott is ok to sleep in his own room... and they love all kinds of vegetables! Yum yum!(The vegetable part is irrelevant la because the always love vege, since they were small till now). Must reward them tonight :P

My darling boys, I love you so much!

Sean's pressie (updated on April 24, 2008)

This is a long due post after Sean's birthday. I haven't got the time to blog recently :( I will try my best to come out with something. Here is one of Sean's birthday presents - A bicycle! It's a gift from my lovely cousins & children & sister in-law & brothers in-law.

Ta-da!This is the bicycle that Sean was learning how to ride on his birthday. If you remember, my dad was guiding him patiently. Hehe..he still don't know how to ride without the two small wheels.

(Continue on 24th April 2008)
Finally, hubby took photos for all the pressies...except the cookbook from Clare (because Sean was using it last night for dinner - a baked salmon recipe). And you will see why I said Sean is a lucky boy!

He has got a Game Boy from his ku cher (hub's sister)

The toys that he likes from my brother, his friend and Aunt Jennifer (who helped to cook for his birthday too). He assembled all the above by himself, except the green little funny face fella, that one was done by me haha...too adorable and it was my first time! Satisfying!

A lovely and interesting book from Aaron and Ian. We have yet to have a chance to play the game with him. Yes, there is a board game in the book. It's like a journey where it takes you to different planets. Clare likes this book!

Denisha and Darren have given this interesting book, Sean loves it because he read a lot of books on general knowledge. He finished the set of encyclopedia I bought few years back, those costs 4 digits a set one, I am sure you can still see some sales persons approaching you in the shopping mall. Actually they are good. I highly recommended if your children like to read and curious about the nature, environment, history and etc.

Mathew and Brandon actually gave Sean 2 Transformers, but I guess dd Scott was playing with one of them, so hub only took a picture with the available one. Sean is very generous, he shares his presents with Scott (except the Game Boy la...they always fight for it). They both were facing obstacles initially when they got the Transformers, haha...clever me can convert them from car to robot, robot to car, clever le?! hahaha....
Pictures not shown here are Children cookbook from Clare cher cher & Uncle Richard, of course a challenging Transformer from Mat and Brad (because these two items were in used when pictures were taken hahaha).

FiSH sPA

I am sure you have heard of fish spa long time ago, it was on TV, you may have heard from your friends...I saw it on TV and heard from my friend when she went to Singapore and enjoyed the spa. Finally! It is in town! However, we didn't go to the first in town fish spa because of the location and all.

Last week Friday, I sent my pda phone to be fixed (stupid phone cannot sync with my outlook). Then we just walked around to kill time. I was looking around to get some unique stuff for my colleague in Romania who is getting married soon. Then hubby just came to me and said:"BB, you see!" I saw legs and fishes (slow reaction la), then only I went:"Ohhhh...fish spa!"

The boys were so excited! Mommy you see, you see....! We then went to check out the price, RM38 for half an hour (adult) and RM19 per child above age 4. Hubby didn't want to try, he said because we didn't bring camera, what a vain pot!

So the boys and I went to try the fish spa. First, you have to clean both feet before you dip your legs to the small fish bowl. It was so ticklish! All 3 of us were laughing so bad and screaming for help when we first dipped our legs in there, ended up everybody in there start laughing together! hehehe... so embarrassing!

Since my phone was sent to repair, so I asked hubby to pass me his phone to take pictures, look at all the small fishes!

Go try it! Please don't ask me which floor, I only know it's in Mid Valley. Besides fish spa, they have massage packages and membership. I promised my mother that we will bring her and dad there on their next visit. The boys keep bugging us to go again the next day, probably they were facinated by the fishes.

The SaLAd tALEs

Why do I call it a salad tales, because it is just like a mixture of vegetables in a bowl. I have been very busy for the past few weeks and also the coming weeks. Guess I have to update my blog in a salad way, mix it all up!

I cannot really remember what have happened the last whole week but just remember I have a very busy weekend! We have a birthday celebration for our precious Sean Lee!

My parents even came all the way from our kampung to celebrate his birthday! Sigh...don't think they will travel all the way to celebrate my birthday hahaha...have to accept the fact.

Saturday, April 5, 2008

It was a busy Saturday. Sean and Scott have a plan, they went to Disney on Ice with cousin Marcus that morning. Hubby and I went to pick up Sean's birthday cupcakes from Wondermilk. Wonder why I love Wondermilk so much? Because of the effort on the cupcakes! It is something different from an ordinary birthday cake. Everyone in the party was so facinated by them!

When the boys come back from Disney on Ice, kungkung start teaching Sean to ride on a bike, without the supporting wheels. My overweight baby was so tensed up! His body was so stiff that he didn't know how to adjust his body. Look at the grandfather love! Come to think of it, my dad didn't teach me how to ride on a bike!

Mom and I were busy in the kitchen, firing up and cooking all the dishes for Fei Jai Sean's birthday. My all time proudest steam radish cake! Thanks to my 'si fu' Jennifer! Si Fu Jennifer not only attended the party, she helped to cook curry chicken, my family all time favorite! And tuna puff! Yummy! Then I ordered a home made jelly cake from a lady! It was a choice of birthday boy.

We have the party at my in-laws' house. It was so much easier compare to having it in the apartment. Moreover, having a party at apartment is not so convenient as the guests have to go through security check, no parking space...so much hassle!

Well, everybody had a good time there. Have to thank my in laws for letting us to have the party there. Thank you for attending the party, it was indeed a wonderful get together session for us adults. Hehe..actually I invited most of my friends rather than Sean's friends.

Ever wonder why so much red in the pictures? Coincidentally, lots of people wore red that night...just like Chinese New Year party haha...

Sean got a lot of presents, he was so happy with all the gifts he got. Lucky boy!

Thank you all for attending Sean's birthday party. You have made it a splendid event and I hope you did enjoy yourself too! We shall have more children's party, and then the adults can catch up while the kids entertain themselves. Yes?!

Afternoon Prayer

I was working from home today, because of my throat infection. Scott was also with me because he was also not feeling so well - cough and cold.

He was searching high and low for a magic color set, half way through, I heard him asking God for help:"God, can you please help me to find the color set?". Then I looked at him and smiled. He went:"I asked God to help, how come the things aren't moving around yet?" hahaha...so funny, he watched too much cartoon.

I replied:"God will help you to see it through your eyes, so keep looking!"
